Octuplets’ Mother
First, I am happy that the octuplets are doing well. I pray and hope they continue to thrive and survive. That said, this rant is about the mother. I question the motives of this woman for having so many babies when she already has six young children and is unemployed. Why would she choose to have so many children when she can’t support them?
She says she loves her children and wanted more. She plans to get her education and not be a welfare mom. She claims that she didn’t do it for money. Give me a break! She did this in order to gain attention and make money by exploiting the babies. There are reports that she wanted two million dollars to appear on the Oprah Whinfrey show.
Her choice to have the babies is fine, but she shouldn't be allowed to get rich from selling her story or getting gifts because of her having so many children at once. Any money gained from the births should go into a trust strictly for the children, and the mother or other family members should not have access to it.
As a hard working taxpayer I resent this woman doing this because she will probably expect everyone else to pay for her bills. The motives of the parents in these multiple births should be examined before they are allowed to occur in the future.

My Response to a Professor’s Commentary
I read a commentary this week from an economics professor this past week. He had some ideas for stimulating the economy. I totally disagree with his ideas. They only favor corporations and wealthy people and would ruin our country.
One suggestion he stated was to abolish corporate income taxes. He believes that the corporations would spend the money they save from this for labor or in research and development. Riigght! I have a better suggestion. If a corporation does business here in the U.S. and hires American workers than cut the corporate income tax for them as a reward. Those companies that outsource jobs but want to sell their products or services here should be made to pay a penalty tax and the money shoul go into the unemployment fund for all the people they put out of work.
Another suggestion he had was to increase immigration for highly skilled and technical people. Sure. Put more Americans out of work because corporations want the cheaper labor. My thought is let’s shut down all immigration until such time as every American who has a job and wants a job is working. We don’t need the extra workers right now and this would lessen the pressure on our services and infrastructures. In addition, we must encourage our young people to value education and study science and math. These children should be encouraged to go into these type of careers. Companies should be required to hire Americans first or pay a penalty.
The professor’s last idea infuriates me. She says that American labor shouldn’t be allowed to unionize. This is a way of taking away worker’s rights. He is suggesting that workers should be stuck in low paying jobs, working long hours and have no benefits while the business they work for makes obscene amounts of profits on the worker’s labor. Worker’s should have more benefits and pay. The corporations need to have responsibility toward American workers when they want Americans to buy their products and services.
We Americans must continue to state our opinions against ideas from people who want to turn our nation into a two tiered society. We must stand up for our rights or we’ll become slave workers so a few can live off our backs in comfort.

Naysayers Might Ruin Our Country
The greediness and selfishness of many people disgusts me. The new president and congress are trying to help get our economy back on track and create jobs. They're trying to pass a stimulus package that would create jobs and help our country. Yet, there are voices shouting out about how they don't like spending or want to pay taxes. I swear these people want to ruin our country. They seem to want America to turn into a two tier class system like the feudal era with an aristocracy and the rest of us poor serfs with little hope. I say to these voices: SHUT UP!!! Give the government a chance to do something. We want our country to move forward with hope for all.
