Decline into Poverty
The statistics on poverty came out recently. Americans living in poverty have increased to a new high. At the same time as more people slip into poverty we have selfish rich people whining about the taxes they’ll have to pay if the Bush tax cuts are allowed to expire. Boohoo! We are in the 21st Century. Poverty should have decreased not increased. It’s a damn dirty shame that this is happening in one of the richest countries of the world.
What has caused this? Yes, the recession is partially to blame. The main blame lies with us letting the corporations and wealthy under the name of conservatism take hold of our nation. Since the Reagan era, taxes for the rich and corporations have been mostly eliminated. Now there’s a move in the name of being fiscally conservative to eliminate other programs and regulations.
The rich would like to see the destruction of the government programs of social security, Medicare, Medicaid and welfare. They say these programs are entitlements and too costly. If these programs end, more people will end up living in poverty. The elderly and other people too sick to afford to pay for healthcare or insurance will die. Guess the only people “ENTITLED” to live full rich lives are those with money.
Corporations want to see the end of regulations and labor laws. They don’t care if people die from poisoned food, water or air. If the environment is destroyed, they don’t care as long as they profit from it. As to labor laws, the corporations would like them gone. Since the Reagan era, companies have gotten away from providing benefits like pensions, healthcare insurance and other benefits. They would like to eliminate union, minimum wage along with other labor laws that protect workers from exploitation. Basically they want to turn American workers into legalized slaves.
We the people of the United States need to take a stand with our voices and our votes. We need to win the war on poverty. We want good paying jobs with benefits. We need the rich and corporations to pay their fair share in taxes. If not, poverty will grow. We’ll be legalized work slaves just surviving. Our country will lose it’s prominence and go down the tubes. We don’t want to be a third world America.

Republican Contract with America
The Republicans came out with their new contract with America. The first thing of this contract is to lower taxes. This means more tax breaks for the rich and corporations. They say they will deal with the deficit by cutting spending and making government smaller.
Here's their actual plan. They'll cut more taxes for the rich and big corporations. This will decrease revenues for the government. The government will be forced into a larger deficit and into borrowing more money. This will open up the Republicans to do what they're really after. They'll be able to start gutting Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, welfare and other social welfare programs saying we can't afford these entitlement programs.
The middle class and other people who aren't part of the top 1% of the wealth off better get wise. The Republicans are lying. There out to force us into further poverty while they get richer. Don't vote for Republicans. You'll help to destroy our country.

The Recession if Over?
Economic experts declared the Recession is over. It ended in June 2009 according to them. THE RECESSION ENDED FOR WHO? For the rich and corporations of course. It certainly hasn’t ended for people without jobs, those who have houses in foreclosure or those who have slipped into poverty. The end of the recession can’t be called over until these issues are over. It doesn’t matter if the stock market and other financial industries are back. These things only benefit the rich.
People are angry justifiably. We want jobs. Let’s set a goal though. People want good paying jobs not part-time minimum wage ones. Voters need to keep the Congress in control of the Democrats. In fact, they should try to put more Democrats in Congress to break Republican obstructionism. Republicans don’t have a plan for jobs. They continue to spout the trickle down theory junk. What trickle down? Do they think rich people will donate more to charity for the poor? Yeah right.
Vote for more Democrats in November. If you’re mad, vote for a third party candidate. Vote for anyone but a Republican or other conservative. They don’t want to put you back to work. They want to turn you into a legalized wage slave while the corporations and rich continue to rake the money in at the expense of everyone else.

Midterm Elections November 2010
America is at another crossroads with the midterm elections coming up in November. The economy is terrible with high unemployment, more people sinking into poverty and many losing their homes. People are angry with Congress and want to vent their anger with their votes. Democrats feel the heat while the Republicans are gleeful they might take control of Congress. We of the middle class need to watch out. We must choose between a path of darkness, greed and selfishness or one of light, fairness and opportunity.
If the Republicans take control of Congress in November, we’ll see our nation sink into darkness and economic devastation. For workers, we’ll see less jobs while those jobs that are left will become minimum wage pay with no benefits. We might see the end of social security and any other programs that help people so that the wealthy won’t have to pay any taxes to help anyone.
Understand, Republicans support and represent corporate America not the people. They are in the pockets of lobbyists paid for by big oil, companies, big banks, etc. They don’t care if you have a job, They don’t care if your food, water and air is safe. They don’t care if you have healthcare. They don’t care if you have a pension or social security. They don’t care if your kids get a good education. They only care about eliminating taxes for corporations and the rich. They only care about deregulation, so profits increase regardless of the damage done to the environment and our lives.
A vote for Republicans of any kind November will not benefit you. A vote for Republicans will only benefit the corporations and wealthy in America. DO NOT FORGET! These people don’t care about the rest of us. They only care about how much money they can get out of us. Your average life and that of your family are of no consequence to these people. So I November, say no to greed, darkness and fear. Say yes to an American dream accessible to everyone.
