Rich People as Politicians

Rich people that run for political office do not and will not represent the average citizen. Once in office, most will only push issues that will benefit them and their fellow rich people. A case in point is Meg Whitman running for governor in California. She has a plan that she has put out of what she wants to do.

One is to eliminate the capital gains tax. That will put her taxes and other rich people’s to zero. This is how most of them make a lot of their money, not through salaries. It won’t benefit the middle class or people who have to pay income taxes on their salaries.

Another idea for jobs is to cut business taxes. These already low in this state at around eight percen. This will only help the big corporations that make huge profits while not providing jobs for people.

She says she’ll put people back to work with jobs. What kind of jobs? Low wage, part time jobs with no benefits. She wants to break the unions, so almost everybody will have crappy jobs while corporate CEOs continue to make obscene salaries. The other question is jobs for who? When she was the head of Ebay, she outsourced jobs and wanted to bring in foreign workers on special visas so she wouldn’t have to pay Amercans decent wages. This won’t help Californians get jobs.

Finally, she complains about welfare in this state going to too many people. She probably plans to cut people on welfare off. This will be an excuse for the rich not having to pay for those who live in poverty through no fault of their own.

So, this rich woman is not going to help the average Californian. She’s only going to make things easier for the wealthy and fat corporate people by cutting their taxes and making our lives miserable.

Let the Bush Tax Cuts Expire

Should the Bush tax cuts for the rich be allowed to expire? Republicans plan to fight to stop this from happening. They stare it would be a tax hike, but this will be a tax hike for the rich. So what! It’s about time rich people pay their fair share. Most of these people are American citizens. They enjoy the rights and freedoms of Americans. I’s time they meet their responsibliities. Every other American pays their taxes, so it’s time for the rich to pay too. They have had it good for years since President Reagan held office. In a time of declining revenues and cuts to services, it is time to let the tax cuts for the rich to expire.

Meg Whitman for average Californians?

Meg Whitman is running for governor in California. She says she wants to put people back to work and stop the unions and special interests. She does not represent the average person in California. She certainly won’t help the middle class or poor. Let me say this loudly: SHE’S ONLY GOING TO HELP HER FELLOW RICH FRIENDS AND BUSINESSES!!! Here’s an example of one of her campaign promises. She says she wants to eliminate the state capital gains tax. This is a tax that is the same as the income tax but paid on non-income type transactions. Most people is CA work for an income, so have to pay taxes on their wages. Who mostly pays a capital gains tax? That’s right, wealthy people like Meg Whitman. By eliminating this tax, the rich won’t have to pay their fair share to the state. Whitman’s and other wealthy people that don’t have jobs will pay 0% in taxes. Not only is this not right or fair, it will eliminate a revenue stream that the state needs to provide services for all Californians.

I hope the average voter in this state doesn’t elect her. First of all, she’s buying the election with her personal wealth. She doesn’t have any political experience. You can’t run a government like a corporation. The most important thing to remember is that she’s not going to help the average Californian. She’s only going to do what she can to help the rich avoid paying any taxes or businesses paying workers minimum wage jobs without benefits. We can’t let our wonderful state and its residents be treated like that.

I SAY NO TO MEG WHITMAN AND ANY OTHER RICH PERSON RUNNING FOR OFFICE!
