Presidential Election 2008
Let me say this emphatically, shouting to the heavens and anyone who will hear: I DON’T WANT JOHN MCCAIN FOR PRESIDENT!!!
I have many reasons I don’t want him for president. They are:
-After eight years of a Republican administration, our country is in a mess. The economy is in a shambles. Prices are rising. People are losing homes and jobs left and right, while our country has become a debtor nation. We are at war due to lies. Our rights are slowly dwindling in the name of homeland security. The only people to benefit have been the rich and corporations. I don’t want more of this.
-McCain is a bad idea for president because he’s too gung ho military. What’s worse? He’s a warmonger and is living in the past. He can’t accept the loss of the Vietnam. Worst of all, he’s a hot head with a nasty temper. He even prides himself as being a maverick. How many wars will this guy get us into? He might want to reinstitute the draft too, since he thinks the military is so important. We don’t need someone like this as president.
-McCain will probably continue wanting to drive our country into the ground by following Bush’s policies. He wants to make tax cuts to the wealthy permanent. He spends his time on negative ads and comments for his opponent. What are his ideas for helping the American people, especially the middle class and poor? Off shore drilling will only benefit the already profit heavy oil companies and risk destroying environmentally sensitive areas. Tax breaks for the rich and corporations only benefit them while average Americans lose jobs and see the American dream vanish. What about health care: The insurance and pharmaceutical industries are gaining obscene profits while people are dying because they can’t get health care. That’s a dirty shame in such a rich country.
These are just a few reasons why I don’t want McCain for president. Polls show that Americans think our country is on the wrong track. It is. We’re going the route of social Darwinism if we aren’t careful, where only the rich will have the right to have decent, comfortable lives. I don’t want to see our wonderful country end up like that. It’s time for change. End of rant. I feel better.
