The Dangers of a Possible Religious Zealot
I’m happy that the First Amendment allows freedom of religion. Everyone in this country can believe or not believe as they choose. It’s all right to believe as you like, but it’s not right when you want to force your religion or beliefs on other people, or think your religion is the only true one. This leads to oppression and wars. Governor Palin is a religious woman. She is entitled to follow her religion She is an intelligent woman, a good wife and a mother. So this entry in not meant as a personal attack on her. That said, I’m scared if she should become the vice president and may eventually the president of this country.
Why? Governor Palin is a member of a controversial, fanatical tending Christian religion. She is a Pentecostal Evangelical. Members of this group believe the Bible should be taken literally. They believe we’re living in the “End Times” before Judgment Day and await the Apocalypse and the Rapture. This is what scares me and should scare everyone about Governor Palin.
We don’t know how deeply she believes in the teachings of her church. I don’t want someone with such radical ideas in control of our nuclear arsenal. We can’t tell if someone with such beliefs might hasten Judgment Day believing they were doing God’s will by hastening the so called “End Times”. That is a truly scary proposition.
We can’t afford to vote such a person into a powerful office. This is a really valid reason to vote for the Democrats. Say no to a potential fanatic.
