Shame on My Race!
We are in the 21st Century. Aren’t we? Then I can’t accept my fellow White’s racism. Some polls show that Whites don’t want to vote for Barack Obama because he’s African American. I’ve heard some say then can’t bring themselves to vote for him because of the color of his skin. This attitude disgusts me in this age. Wen are we going to bury racism once and for all. This is not the time of the early Twentieth Century of lynchings, Jim Crow laws, segegration and the Klan. We should not be voting for a president based on the color of their skin.
Barack Obama is an educated, intelligent man. He comes from a middle class background. He was a community organizer that helped people. He is a Christian. He is a senator. Above all, he is a fresh face with new ideas that can help our country. His is not a war monger or religious extremist like his opponents. The color of his skin has no bearing on his humanity and caring for people and our country.
I’m sick of racism. I’m sick of religious fanatics and war mongers. I’m sick of greedy, selfish corporations and wealthily people who don't give a damn about anyone else but themselves. It’s time for a change in the presidency. I hope the young people and minority groups of this country come out in droves and put the first African American in the presidency. I hope White people with any intelligence and decency will vote against racism and make Barack Obama president.
As for me, this middle aged White woman is going to vote for Barack Obama. The color of his skin doesn’t scare me. I’m more terrified of his warmongering and religious fanatic opponents who will turn this country into a war raging theocracy if we don’t watch out. I’m saying yes to hope. I’m saying yes to a better life for all people. I’M SAYING NO TO RACISM! NO TO WAR! NO TO RELIGIOUS FANATICS! Vote for Barack Obama and save our great nation!!!!!
