Who knows the mind of God?
I really get tired when religious fundamentalists claim to know the mind of God or that He talks to them. We are only human and no one can claim to know or understand the Lord’s plans. I’m a Christian. I believe in God. I believe Jesus died for our sins and accept him as my Savior. That said, I don’t believe statements like the one Governor Palin said that God wanted us in Iraq. How does she know? Using the Lord in politics is wrong. The fathers of our country had it right with separation of church and state. My response to such statements like what governor Palin said is a quote from the book The Tainted by Glenda Larke:
“Please don’t tell me that was God’s will. It’s a damned dangerous business to assume you know the mind of God, however much what happens seems to agree with your own view of the world.”
Such thinking doesn’t help our country or people. Stop claiming to know what God wants. None of us knows. As human beings politicians and everyone of us aren’t qualified.
